However, in the 1978 revival (and possibly earlier ones), the classic entrance line was indeed used. Dracula (Frank Langella when the production opened, then Raul Julia, and later Jean Leclerq) made his entrance, and the house exploded in cheers. Then he said "Gude eeevening!" -- and the house exploded in fresh cheers for about ten minutes.
